Hobbies
I really enjoy working with and helping people. As I youth, I started working in a summer camp assisting then serving as a counselor for younger children. I have volunteered and worked with many children and youth groups throughout my career. Full time, I work in recruiting. I enjoy helping people find jobs and a career path that fits them. I have worked for many corporations including Walgreens, Bank of America, Booking.com, and Nestle. Tutoring is a compliment to the work I already do as an recruitment professional which is to help an individual be their best in their educational pursuits which eventually turns into a career. As a tutor, my focus is walking carefully through the subject matter step by step. Also, my focus is on getting my students to thoroughly think through what they are doing. I'm not looking to just give my students a set way of doing something. I want my students to understand the why and the how. I believe true and lasting learning happens when they are able to thoroughly think through all aspects of the subject matter. My goal is to get them to point where they are able to critically evaluate their own work, dissect it, and analyze it on their own. My method is to celebrate all wins along the way, to encourage, cheer them on, and build confidence. My hobbies and interests include: writing poetry, swimming, documentaries, gardening, resume consulting and career advising.
