Experience

Teaching Assistant: I’ve been a TA for four different engineering courses at Washington University, including Engineering Mathematics, Logic and Discrete Mathematics, Algorithms and Data Structures and Computer Science 1. In these positions I have had a number of different responsibilities, but the experience that best prepares me to be a tutor is the help sessions I led for Engineering Mathematics. During these sessions, I engaged one on one with students and helped them master complex mathematical and engineering concepts. I received constant praise for presenting concepts in a simple and relatable way, and received the Teaching Assistant of the Year award for the 2014 – 2015 school year. I am planning to pursue a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics this coming fall, and will bring the extreme enthusiasm to I have for math and science to any teaching position I hold. Research: I have published several papers in Applied Mathematics and Control Engineering. This experience has given me a keen understanding of how the math and science principles taught in the classroom end up being used in the real world.
